Fri Sept 8th Del Rio

Friday, Sept 7th:  Left San Antonio on the way to Del Rio, home of Laughlin Air Force Base.    A boring drive without much scenery.  Many Texan ranches.  Highlight was the cotton fields and Gretchen had to stop to touch some!  Very fluffy!  Arrived in Del Rio with the weather at 105 degrees and found an authentic Mexican restaurant (aren't they all) for a wonderful Mexican lunch and margaritas at La Hacienda.

This weather was too hot for a walk to the pool.  It actually hurts!  You walk out and instantly you are like in a shower with sweat.  Maybe we should not complain too much as it looks like it will be getting cooler - in the 90's.  Sorry Strongsville with weather at 64 and rain.

The other problem is that Gretchen is going through fire withdrawal.  Fire bans everywhere with the dry weather.  Along the road the signs identify passing over creeks but none of them have water.  They are all dry.

Another good night of rest as we continue to try to get out of this tremendous big state!

Note the margarita in lower right corner.  Or did she have too many margaritas?
