Sept 17th, Monday: We arrived Tombstone last night at a crummy campground and so removed ourselves and went to a place called Trail Riders Inn that is only 2 blocks from town. This is great! Time now for some Wyatt Earp action. Took a trolley car ride to capture all the sites. Much of Tombstone is still in original condition. The streets do not alowed cars and it gives you a sense of being back in the 1800's.
Gretchen was asked to participate in a western skit where she "accidently" shot the wrong man. Down he went and she tried to rescue him!.
Then Roger did his shooting marksmenship thing at a six-shooter gallery. My, he looked like he could be the Marshall as he went along and shot those bad guys in the head and heart.
Off to the Crystal Saloon that has many original furnishings including bullet holes in the ceiling. Lo and behold, wait a minute, who is that charming person entering the saloon? Why it's none other than Doc Holliday. Roger offered him a beer in exchange for a picture with Gretchen!
Now is the hour for the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. Wyatt still wins and Billy Clanton and Tom and Frank McLaury go down to defeat. No,Gretchen did not help this time!
Last stop was at the American Legion, Post #24. Roger has his Thompson, ND plate to exchange. This is a huge club with over 600 members.
